I have had the same error: ‘Error 45 initializing SQL*Plus’ when I was running a script:

…

I’ve found out that in one of ‘inserty.sql’ file was some junk data (NULL) instead of expected data. When I’ve removed the bad line from my script evertything ran OK :)
